Photo Challenge-Wind

Today I got a wild hair and decided to participate in a photo challenge over at I Heart Faces just for the heck of it all.  The challenge is "wind".  It reminded me of the day Lauren and I were at the lake taking photos and all she wanted to do was get in the car and come home to a nice warm house.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day in whatever weather condition you might have.

Dear Friend.........

I am so very blessed to have such amazing friends in my life.  Today I want to recognize and introduce you to  one of my BFF and tell her how much I appreciate her.  She has certainly gone through her share of trials but continues to alway be such a great example and  blessing in my life.

Karen I love this poem and thought of you.

God must have known there would be
times we'd need a word of cheer,
Someone to praise a triumph
or brush away a tear.

He must have known we'd need to share
the joy of little things
In order to appreciate
the happiness life brings.

I think He knew our troubled hearts
would sometimes throb with pain,
At trials and misfortunes,
or goals we can't attain.

He knew we'd need the comfort
of an understanding heart
To give us strength and courage
to make a fresh, new start.

He knew we'd need companionship
unselfish.... lasting.... true,
And so God answered
the heart's great need
with Cherished Friends.... like you!!
To Karen and ALL my wonderful friends.  I cherish your friendship.   Have a wonderful weekend.

Taking a Break

You are truly witnessing history here.  Fred and Shilo taking a nap.

Actually there is more to the story than just taking a nap.  We are truly taking a BREAK from all treatments and we feel completely at peace with our decision and so does our doctor.

The chemo treatments have really broken Fred's body down.  He needs time to heal both physically and mentally.  He needs time to rebuild his resources, catch up on lots of sleep and the pain to go away.  However while we are doing this we need those darn cancer cells to behave themselves and go to sleep or better yet die.

The plan is to take a break for one month and then we will repeat a PET scan and see where we are and if the chemo is doing what we need it to do.  So we plan to enjoy this next month.  I am hoping for some great weather so we can get outside for some fresh air and nature.

In the mean time thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.  I completely believe that all prayers are answered and miracles happen but at the right time.  Your prayers are truly what we need right now and it is what keeps us going everyday and the reason I get out of bed.  Trust me it has crossed my mind many times to just pull the covers over my head and go back to sleep.  HAHAHA.  Well I hope that we will learn what we need to learn from this trial very soon and then move on.  However, until then we feel very blessed for wonderful friends, family and faith.

Love you all.  Have a great day.

"Sweetheart"- Workshop

Here are the layouts we did at our March workshop for those that need to finish.  Sorry it's taken me so long to post them.  Keep in mind that you can put any photos on the layouts that show love,  Kids, family, pets ect...  Just look for anything that shows love for these layouts.  They have been so fun to work with.

Also another tip I would suggest with these layouts is printing your photos in black and white.  Any black and white photos with this kit just really makes your subject you are photographing pop and will really stand out on the layouts.  Good luck and let me know if you need help.

Layout 1
Layout 2
These are not the best photos I have ever taken but you can see how your eye is drawn right to the subject.  I LOVE black and white photos.  Give it a try.

Layout 3
There is plenty of spots for journaling.  I choose not to add any journaling to this layout and let the photos tell the story.  The theme being "love yourself"
Thanks for stopping by and remember to check back soon for photos of the banner workshop.
