Believe Workshop layouts

I am not sure where the week went and why I was so busy but here we are already to Friday.  Below are the workshop layout we did in December.  If you didn't finish your layouts you can view them here and get them finished.  You should now have Christmas photos to put on your layouts.  These layouts were inspired and designed by my upline Karen Pederson.  Thanks to Karen for letting me use them.

Layout 1:  The blue are of cardstock is a great spot for journaling

Layout 2:  The journaling for this layout will go on the chipboard tag.

Layout 3:  Same thing with this layout.  Plenty of journaling space on those darling tags.

Back Blogging- "Magnifique Workshop layouts"

You are probably wondering if the phrase "Back Blogging" is a proper phrase or what it means.  Well it is a legal phrase according to Lynette.  In the medical profession when we need to add a late entry into the chart we call it "back charting" so why not have the same concept in the blogging world.  Therefore let me introduce you to my back blog post.

Life gets very hetic for me and my minutes turn into days and weeks.  These layouts should have been posted a month ago, but I am just getting around to it.  So today we are back blogging.  Just pretend that this post is back about a month ago.  HAHAHAHA.

Very fun layouts we did last month.  There are a few tips and tricks that I will explain so stay with me here.  Some of the layouts were inspired by my upline and friend Karen Pedersen and Magic How-To book.  Layout 2 Karen had made and posted and I just loved it.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Layout 1
Tip for layout one is using the color ready alphabet to spell the word "Snow"  We also want to spell the word "Winter" on layout 2.  Problem is that there is only one "W" in the color ready package.  Well that is no problem.  All you have to do is take two "V" and put them together and you have a "W"  If you look really close at the letter "W" in SNOW you can see that it is two "V"  Pretty cool huh?  Well at least I thought so.

The snow flakes were textured using the glimmer mist technique.  See below for making glimmer mist.
Layout 2
Tips for layout 2 is sponging.  The base cardstock pieces are colonial white.  Using a round sponge and lots of ink we sponged the entire page giving it a sky feel and look.  Snowflakes were also given the glimmer mist to make them look very shimmery.  You probably can't see it in the photo but the snowflakes and so fun.
Layout 3
Sorry no photos on the layout yet
We really don't have any fancy tips or tricks to layout 3.  Those of you following my cutting diagrams I didn't include the dimensions for the photo pieces on layout 3.  That is because I went through my packet and used the scraps to get the mats for my photos.  Here are the dimensions if you are interested.
Colonial white cardstock piece:  5x7
Lagoon and Pacificia  cardstock pieces:  4 1/4" x 4 1/4"

GLIMMER MIST TECHNIQUE:
You will love this technique.  It makes your images very shimmery and they really pop.  Check back later and I will post this on my tutorial page at the top of my blog.  For now this is all you do.

Equal parts of pearl paint and rubbing alcohol.  Mix in a spray bottle or use our spray pen.  You can add reinker to color the glimmer mist if you choose.  Spray your image (in this case we sprayed the snowflakes)  Let dry and you have a shimmery snowflake.  You can add some prisma glitter to really make them sparkle if you wish.

You will want so clean your sprayer immediately after you spritz your images to prevent the sprayer from clogging.  The paint tends to really clog your sprayer.  I get everything ready spray all flakes and then wash my spray pen out really good.

Passages

Finally today I was able to get my picture on these layouts from our "Passages" workshop.  It took me all day to get my photos printed and on the layouts (no joke).  I decided to use photos from my Europe trip two years ago and trust me there were thousands of photos to go through.  It was so very hard to decide which ones I wanted.
Have I told you how much I love our "Passages" paper pack.  Well I do because the paper tells a story all by itself.  The entire line is about life and taking a journey.  So I did decide to use Europe photos on my layouts, but really these layouts can be used for any event or day of the year.  In a nutshell we are all on a great big journey and just like layout one says "Happiness is not a destination it's a Journey". Trust me it really does say that in the bottom right hand corner of the right page.  You might have to click on the photo to see it.
Layout two is very fun and easy.  The frames on the left hand side of the page I powdered with baby powder on the back. Why did I do that?  No it's not to make the layouts smell good when in fact the layout does smell good for a few minutes. HAHAHA.  The powder actually neutralized the adhesive on the back of the stickease.  Because I popped those frames up with 3-D foam tape I didn't want them to be sticky and sticking in all the wrong places.
Layout three will go together very quickly for you.  If you are loving the layouts (which I am sure you are-haha) and you don't come to my workshops then what are you waiting for?  We have so much fun.  Email me for details at myhandsyourheart@aol.com  You can complete the layouts with me walking you through them or on your own.

Have a great day and enjoy your life "Journey"

Zippidee Workshop

Climb aboard for a fun workshop this month using our Zippidee kit.  I know all of you have hundreds and hundreds of Disney and theme park photos waiting for the perfect layout.
These layouts were so fun and yes I am so guilty of having all of those photos laying around needing to go onto layouts and in my kids albums.  YIKES these photos were from 2004.  I can NEVER have enough Disney layouts.  Lauren loved meeting all of the characters at Disney World.  Her favorite experience of all was eating lunch at Cinderella's castle.  She was in big time heaven all day.
These layouts work so great for Disney and theme park but they will also make great birthday layouts. I used the photos for layout two from last year when Fred took the girls to Disney World.  Brandon and I were not invited to go with them since the two of us had just returned from Europe.  OHHHH well Brandon and I had had the best time ever in Europe so I guess that was only fair.
We love staying at the Wilderness Resort.  We have a time share at the lodge and we love it there.  We can never come home until I have taken photos all around the resort.  Thanks to stopping by.  I have to run but I will be back later to add my details.

Splendor Layouts-July Workshop

I was thrilled to see all of you this month for workshops.  Summer can be such a crazy and busy time of year so thanks for taking time to hop on over for a good time.  Below are the scrapbook layouts for this month for those of you that didn't  finished.  You will notice that I didn't go with the layouts in your brochure like I usually do.  So please refer to this blog post as you put your layouts together.  Remember to click on image to enlarge and view details.  Have FUN.

Layout 1:
Perfect layout for all of those millions of summer photos you take.  You can put just about anything on this layout.
Layout 2:
This layout can be used for just about anything that brings you joy.  I put photos of Alyssa and our dogs on this layout.  She loves animals especially her dog Nitro.  Perhaps that is why she wants to be a vet.  Ohhh my goodness these dogs are going to be so lost without her this fall when she goes off to college.
Layout 3:
This layout is probably my favorite one.  I can't believe I have not scrapbooked these photos of  Brandon.  They were taken three years ago when he and Lauren were playing in the back yard on a very hot day.  They enjoyed the day by cooling off the slide with the hose.  WOW I didn't realize how much he has grown.  Make me kinda sad.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Next months layouts will be "Zippidee"  They are perfect layouts for amusement parks and fun family activities.  I know you all have tons and tons of park photos needing to be put in your scrapbook so make sure you sign up for a class.  Those of you not currently in my classes that want to join in the fun just contact me at:

"Caboodle" Workshop

Ok, I have to say that this paper pack is one of my favorites. It compliments just about any photo's you put on the layout.

With layout one we stamped the boots from the stamp set "Springtime" on background and texture paper. I love that stamp set.

Layout two was very fun to put together. We sponged the dimensional elements sorbet and attached them with a colonial white brad.

Layout three is very universal. If you don't have a need for boy pages you can just leave the two boy stickease off and your page can be used with any photos. There is plenty of room of the right hand page for journaling. The day that I took these portrait photos of Brandon he was in a bad mood. So I have not done any journaling in that spot yet. Perhaps I can journal about the many mood swings of a 15 year old boy.

Sweet Home Layouts/Workshop

Here is the SWEET HOME kit that we complete at January workshops. A very fun kit for family photos but yet very versatile. Page one I used as a travel page with my son and I when we went to Austria this summer.

Page two can be used for just about any photos and is very versatile. I love versatile pages.

Page three is a great family/home page. I am waiting for the snow to melt around my house so I can put two photos of our home on this page where you see the white blanks. Hopefully the snow will melt soon so I can get that done.
Enjoy putting your layouts together. Next month we will work with "topstitch" from the new spring idea book.

Grace Layouts

Good day everyone. Today I will be posting the workshop layouts from last month (Grace) and this month (Sweet Home) for those of you that didn't finish. These Grace layouts are so fun. You might try printing your photos in sepia for these layouts. The sepia gives the layouts such a warm feeling. I think I will print in sepia when I put photos on the third layout which as you can see has no photos on it.
Layout one was our family at Thanksgiving time looking at the Christmas lights at Temple Square. It's the perfect layout for family
Layout two is Rachael and her dorm life last year as a freshman. Someday she will be so glad to look back and remember her dorm. However right now she is grateful she no longer lives in the dorms.

Layouts were inpired by my upline and BFF Karen.

August Kit of the Month- "Tinkerin'"

Tinkerin" kit is full of fun. I love the bright colors in the kit. It is very fun for your summer layouts. My favorite tip on these layouts is making "paper thread" for the buttons.
Layout one is Brandon right before he left for a "High Adventure Scout trip". Layout two is Rachael and her roommates. Layout three is Rachael when she came home from college for the summer.
Therefore you can see that this kit is very versatile and can be used for just about any fun thing you have in mind. Have fun completing your layouts.

July Kit of the Month-"Animal Cookies"

Here are the layouts we did for July. Sorry I am so slow at posting these. I let a downline borrow the layouts for her workshops and I didn't think to photograph them before I let them go. I was so glad I could help her out.
As you all know I love this "Animal Cookies" paper. I have used these layouts for Disney photos and birthday. If you didn't finish your layouts at workshops then I hope you get them finished very soon and photos on them cause you will love the end result.
If you have questions or need help please contact me. Have a happy scrappy day.

May Kit of the Month-"That's Amore"

I have gotten so behind on posting the workshop layouts due to our kitchen remodel project. Which by the way the kitchen is coming along. We are still not done but everyday we get closer and it's starting to feel like it's all been worth it. I will post a photo of my new kitchen when we are completely done. So this first layout is a great format to use for my daughters last dance photos. The left hand side I used a 8x10 photo to highlight she and Seth.

Layout 2 comes from Imagine. I used some photos from my trip to Europe with my girls two years ago. As I was putting photos on this layout it brought back so many great memories of our trip. This paper pack was a perfect fit for these photos.

Layout 3 is also a very fun layout. I am still looking for the perfect photos to put on this layout. So I will have to re-post this layout when I find those perfect photos. I am just to the point of my life that I can't really put any photos of my girls and there "Guy Friends" on the layout because they really don't know what love it. Some days they think they do but really when they find that true "Love Story". Let just hope that is a few years down the road.

The items used to create these layouts are compiled in a kit. Email me at myhandsyourheart@aol.com the kit contents and shopping list.

April Kit of the Month "Stardust"

This kit is so perfect for any sport layouts. Here I used it for Brandon's football season. I still have to journal-yikes that is the thing I hate to do. I will never be a good journalist.

Layout 2: It took me several weeks to get this layout done because it kept raining and so many of our games were cancelled. So when the games are cancelled that means no photo opportunities for mom. Actually speaking of rain you probably can't read it but part of the journaling (yes I actually did some journaling) I found this quote that I love and it worked perfect with the season. "Some days you win, some days your lose...and some days it rains....BULL DURHAM
Layout 3: This layout I just used different photos of Brandon in the backyard being a kid. So besides this being a perfect sport kit you can also use it for just about any occasion or event.

March Kit of the Month-"Daydream"

PINK,PINK,PINK,is the only color for Lauren. This was her 7th birthday. She was so excited to get her Pink cake and her presents wrapped in pink princess paper.

Photo Suggestions:
Left Page-5x7, 3x3
Right Page- 4x4 (3)

This was Alyssa's first high school dance. It was a special time because when got to experience that with her sister Rachael. Alyssa went with a very cute boy and it was a long day because our sweethearts dance is always the day of our State Swim meet. She looked very cute in her bright pink dress, but go figure I would have much rather seen there faces for the photo. I hope I am a fly on the wall when she looks back at this layout in several years to hear her say "OHHHHH Yuck" what were we thinking. What can I say I love teenagers and how everything is so exciting to them and nothing else in the world is important.

Photo Suggestions:
Left Page-3 3/4 x3, 8x8
Right Page- 4x4 (2), 3x3 (2)

Going to Cinderella's castle each time we go to Magic Kingdom is always a must do on Lauren's list. We usually eat lunch in the castle. In Lauren's eyes it's a dream come true and at that very moment nothing else in the world matters to her. It's fun to see her so happy.

Photo Suggestions:
Left Page- 4x6, 4x2.5 (2)
Right Page- 8x6, 4.5x4.5

January Kit of the Month-"Aspen"

The wait for snow is over. I didn't have any current photos of the kids in the snow. For this layout I had to go back to 2003 to find any snow photos that I had not already scrapbooked. Well the wait is over and we have had plenty of snow.

PHOTO SUGGESTIONS:
Left Page: 5x5
Right Page: 2.5 x5, 5.5x5, 2.5x5

Once Rachael got home from college the kids all decided to have a snowball fight. The snow was just perfect.

PHOTO SUGGESTIONS:
Left Page: 5x7, 3x4
Right Page: 5x7, 3x3 (3)

Of course the major battle was between Rachael and Alyssa. They were both covered with snow and laughing. It was a great day.

PHOTO SUGGESTIONS:
Left Page: 5x7
Right Page: 5x7, 3x3 (2), 4x6
